Jackson was not prone to humility as he boasted about his seeming talents as a coach. His team, the New York Knicks, saw them as motivators that were somewhat valuable. However, they would snicker when Jackson went overboard on the subject matter.

Insulting a Player's Footwear

Ron Artest took medical leave for an extended time for plantar's wart. He received prescription shoes which he was ordered to wear by his doctor. But leave it to Jackson to hurl the insults. Referring to them as "concrete boots" was enough to irk Artest but not too much.

Steve Nash: False Accusations

A cardinal rule of basketball is to dribble up and down while running the entire court. Carrying the ball while running is considered a serious offense with heavy penalties. But try telling that to Steve Nash, according to Jackson. There was heated debate about Nash breaching that taboo for the longest time. To date, nothing has been settled, and the jury hasn't yet decided.
