These Tom Brady Statistics Will Blow Your Mind

Is Tom Brady the greatest of all time? A quick look at his numbers seems to back up his GOAT status. Here’s a look at some of the football pro’s most mind-blowing statistics.
Brady Has Played in 18% of All Super Bowls

As of 2022, there have been a total of 56 Super Bowls, and Tom Brady has played in 10 of them. That comes out to just under 18%. To put that number in perspective, the player with the second-most Super Bowl appearances is Stephen Gostkowski with six for the Patriots. Mike Lodish is in third place with five Super Bowl appearances playing for Buffalo and Denver.
He’s One of Only Two Sports Pros to Play in 10 Championship Games

It’s not easy to make it through the playoffs year after year. That’s why only two players in the four major pro sports leagues have reached 10 championship games over the last three decades. The first is Tom Brady. The second? LeBron James. LeBron is still playing, so it remains to be seen whether he’ll soon have an 11th appearance under his belt.
He’s Thrown 86 Postseason Touchdowns

Not only does Brady make it to the playoffs on a regular basis, he also does really well once he’s there. Brady holds the record for the most postseason touchdowns in NFL history with a whopping 86 TDs to his name. That’s impressive enough, but now consider that the players tied for second place — Joe Montana and Aaron Rodgers — only have 45 postseason TDs. Brett Favre is in fourth place with 44.
Brady Has the Most Super Bowl Passing Yards

Tom Brady also holds the record for the most all-time passing yards in a Super Bowl, thanks to the 505 yards he racked up during Super Bowl LII in 2018. Funnily enough, Brady also holds the second-highest spot, throwing for 466 passing yards in Super Bowl LI as the Patriots defeated the Atlanta Falcons.
He’s the Only QB Over 40 to Play in a Super Bowl

Age is nothing but a number, at least to Tom Brady, who hasn’t let turning 40 slow him down in the slightest. At 44 years old, Brady is the oldest quarterback to win a playoff game and the oldest player in all of the NFL to play in and win a Super Bowl.
