NHL Goalies With The Most Goals

NHL Goalies With The Most Goals

Generally speaking, people don't think of goalies when they think of scoring in ice hockey. However, it is something that can happen, as shown by how there are a number of NHL goalies who have done so.

Martin Brodeur

Martin Brodeur is one of the best-known NHL goalies of recent decades. After all, he won three Stanley Cup championships with the New Jersey Devils plus two Olympic gold medals with Team Canada. Besides these, Brodeur is also the highest-scoring NHL goalie with not one, not two, but three goals.

Ron Hextall

Most of the NHL goalies who have scored goals have scored just a single goal. Brodeur has scored three. However, there is one other NHL goalie Ron Hextall, who has scored two. He isn't particularly well-known nowadays because he played back in the 1980s and the 1990s without ever breaking into the ranks of the top NHL goalies. Still, Hextall was notable enough in his own time, particularly since he was famously aggressive.

NHL goalies are continuing to score goals in the present. For instance, consider Pekka Rinne, who scored a goal for the Nashville Predators while they were playing the Chicago Blackhawks on January 9 of 2020. Unsurprisingly, he did so towards the end of the game when the opposing net was empty. In fact, there was less than 22 seconds remaining in the game when it happened.
